I completely disagree with this. COMPLETELY.

But maybe it’s just the language used. It’s really hard to write something like this and have such a strong opinion about someone who identifies openly as a title or in a category because that might mean something different to them than it does to you.

I’m going to throw out there that I LOVE dating chubby chasers but I hate dating fat fetishists and to me they are very different. I have the following opinions after doing the leg work - dating all three of these types of men personally. That being said, it’s safe to assume that every woman’s experiences are different and thus we may have different opinions because of the people who have touched our lives.

To me - as a fat woman, having always been a fat woman and openly accepting my fat body there are three scenarios:

You date a fat fetishist:

They look at you not as a person but as a fat woman or simply FAT depending on the individual. Their fetish is normally sensed from the very first conversation and this will not change. In my experience they mainly want to fulfill their own sexual desires and really have no interest in you a relationship. The majority of the time these people are nice to you in order to get what they want but their not genuine.

If you know anything about fat fetish some people take it to the extreme and actually want to own you and your body. They want you to give it to them to do what they will with it. Whether that’s force feeding you so you put on weight sometimes to the point where you become immobile - or fucking your fat instead of you/your vagina. The majority of fat fetishists that I’ve spoken to don’t need actual intercourse in order to be fulfilled - which means, if that’s what you want then you may consistently be unsatisfied within this relationship.

Keep in mind that I’ve never actually dated a fat fetishist - I’ve merely only spoken to them and can tell that I’m not interested very quickly. There are probably men out there who differ from the above but in my experience this is normally the case - or at least the only type of fat fetishist that I’ve run into.

You date a chubby chaser:

These men differ completely from the fat fetishist. They have a preference which, lets me honest here EVERYONE does. Even you as a fat woman have a preference in men, there are things you’re attracted to and things that you aren’t. Whether you prefer tall men, short men, bearded men, tattooed men etc.

Chubby Chasers treat you like the person you are, they just happen to love your body too. They want to love ALL of you, when they make love to you they want to grab and kiss and touch every inch of you. And yes, they may compliment your chubbiness. They might tell you that they prefer you in tighter fitting clothing that shows off your curves but really, is that the worst thing in the world? A man who loves you for exactly how you look?

In my experience these men treat you well, they’re happy and content to walk down the road holding your hand and showing the world that they’re with you. They support you and your lifestyle as it is. Not every fat/chubby girl is healthy - whether you want to be supported in going to the gym and eating well or you want to be taken out for late night McDonalds they normally don’t care either way. And they do want to know you and the person you are, they will date you and have long term relationships.

To me, being a chubby chaser is really just having a preference. They happen to like their women with a little more meat on them. Is that the worst thing in the world? Not at all and I constantly see these men getting flack for this online and even in real life.

You date a guy who likes conventional women/beauty (taken from the words in the post above):

Have the women supporting this article actually done this? And I mean that - have you actually had a boyfriend or dated someone who likes thinner, beautiful women?

To me, this isn’t that awesome. I mean, you know from the get go that you aren’t their specific taste. In a lot of cases you’ll be their first “fat girl”. I’ll be the first one to throw out there that this is not the greatest experience. Sure you might think it’s really nice of this guy to be open to dating all types of women - fat, thin etc. You might feel special that despite his obvious tastes in women that he was attracted to you - whether that boils down to your personality, self confidence, whatever.

I’ve dated a handful of men like this. Who have a preference for smaller women but for whatever reason find themselves attracted to me. Men who the world look at and think they are way too good for me. Men who are hot enough that when we walk hand in hand around a mall I get dirty looks from thin women with “why the fuck is he with her” undertone.

In general most men aren’t comfortable making this change - from thin beautiful women to fat beautiful women. Because whether we like it or not there will be comments from friends, there will be looks in public and unless they are completely self aware and confident within themselves this will stick with them.

I’ve experienced various types of treatment in situations like this. Some guys, like me from the beginning, from the first time they meet me but it takes them YEARS to actually come to terms with it and ask me out. Usually these men tend to always be a little weary of the whole thing even has you continue to date. Other guys, like me, they’re SUPER attracted to me but they’re uncomfortable with that and thus want to hang out, make out and more but don’t really want to do things in public. They have a fear of what others will think and thus tend to try to hide you. Sure they’ll take you to dinner or to a movie but it always tends to be outside the area they live in. You don’t really ever get to meet their friends or family. Some men deal with it well, and you’re just like anyone else to them however, in my experience this is very rare.

Plus - there is the whole sex thing. If you’re someone’s first bigger woman/sexual partner sex is going to be awkward for the first little while because having sex with someone who’s plus size is a little different than having sex with someone who’s thin. Totally doable but it can take some getting used to. And sometimes you have to deal with the fact that they’ll spend most of their time on your tits and ass. Some guys wont pay attention to your entire body.

To me there are TON of fat feminists out there wishing for the day that some “normal” guy who finds conventional women attractive falls for them. Why?

Is it because you don’t want to be seen as what you are?

Is it because you have your own insecurities with being fat?

Is it because you’ve had a bad experience with a chubby chaser in the past and have sworn them off every since?

Or is because you don’t have experience with all three types of men and it’s an unfounded opinion?

And really - saying that you’re a chubby chaser in your about me is exactly like a girl saying that she’s a beard enthusiast but do you see any guy out there complaining about that and making it political?
